Re: [pyrnet] A question on showing and socialization
I think my friend must surely have misunderstood the breeder.

I recently got a Wolfhound puppy and her breeder was also very concerned
about letting her play with the other dogs for the same reason. She felt
that she should not be allowed to play with them until she was close to a
year old to avoid injury from playing with the bigger dogs. I've found
this hard to reconcile with the need for her to learn to coexist with the
others, so I've been doing my best to satisfy both needs and worrying a
lot. Anyway, I just wanted to say that she probably didn't misunderstand
the breeder, because she isn't the only breeder that feels that puppies
shouldn't be allowed to play with the older dogs.
