RE: [pyrnet] Limited Sight Advice

Hi Amy,
I just returned from my sisters house in Charleston, SC. She has a 15 year old German Shepard. He is deaf, mostly blind and has severe arthritis. She is committed to letting him live out his days as comfortably. He pretty much stays in the kitchen, but she has put down area rugs so that he doesn't slip. When it is time for him to go out, she claps as well as yells for him. I don't know why, but the clap seems to be easier for him to hear. When he gets treats, they are placed by his nose. I was very curious about his quality of life before I went down there, but he seems to be very happy and I am sure she will know when it is time for him.
