Re: [pyrnet] Max and Beau

Gerry, I rescued a Pyr in Oct of last year. He came with that iffy
personality, infected ears, arthritic legs (at 4 yoa), and needing thyroid
meds. He "smiled" at me and still does sometimes, he will not have an
extremely long life as his legs are bad..cause maybe backyard breeding
and/or leaving him alone in the fenced yard and doghouse for years... but
none of that matters really... He got smacked every time he showed
aggression because I know in my heart that Pyrs only show that aggression if
they have been hurt badly. After six months he cries (with really bad
hearing) for me and I know he is slowly learning to trust again. Learn from
the experience but know the capacity of the love these large dogs have if we
can get to them in time. It's a shame that you couldn't have gained the love
of your Saint before he was left with an empty future. You seem like a
wonderful person..rescue another animal that has a chance at a new life...
There are many out there and I can testify that many of them are
"recyclable". They just need to build up that trust and love again. My best
wishes... Nancy
