Keith, you can use something called THE STUFF. it works very well on tangles/mats. i found that when the dogs shed they mat easier because it seems like all the old stuff gets tangled in the new hair and is a problem. when he is shedding big time i have to groom every day to keep away huge mats. i think Mellow is the biggest 'mat' pyr i have ever had.
