Emily, I'm sorry to hear of the extra problems that you've encountered
with Zuni. With the heart problems, that's yet another reason not to have
proceeded with amputation, I would think. Keeping her comfortable is all
you can really do. We have been through this with three dogs now, and each
time they have let us know when it was "time." As long as they are
enjoying life, and you can control the pain, treasure each moment you
have; and when they let you know it's time, hold them gently through that
final passage. Our thoughts are with you.
