Lisa,
I was wondering how this poor girl was doing.

Hi, Kelly & Mandy!
Thanks for your message and your concern for the poor stray that was hit by a car and had multiple fractures.
Taffy is happily convelescing in my living room after three successful surgeries.
She had her 30 stiches out last week and the Dr. was thrilled with her progress.
He is reserving prognosis until she is x-rayed in about four weeks.  For now, she is to be quiet and "crate rested".  She has not even needed to be crated, as she perches like a queen on her throne on her orthopaedic bed in the living room.  I was a little concerned, as she never seemed to want to go outside.  However, I would encourage her everytime I let the other dogs out but have only been successful in getting her up and outside twice a day to relieve herself.  She is drinking and eating well and is fairly easy to medicate and loves attention - even gets along great with the other 7 dogs here (3 Pyrs, 2 Beardies, an AussieX, & a n'Otterhound).  Tonight she was chewing on a brush that somehow made its way to her "throne", which was her way of telling me that she wanted a grooming session.  She has even started playing with toys and has her own little puppy tennis ball to take care of.  Also, on Saturday night we were all laying on the floor and she was stretching out to touch two of the other Pyrs, CeeCee & Tonka.  Also, was playing what I am guessing is the Pyr version of "peek-a-boo" with CeeCee and it made me catch my breath it was so sweet - she would put her head on one side of a pillow and CeeCee would pull it away, then CeeCee would put her head under a pillow and Taffy would paw at it till CeeCee would put her big head up.  As much as I was enjoying the moment, I regretted that my digital camera was on the counter.
Sorry to go on so long, but what a long way this girl has come in three weeks from the cold floor of Animal Care & Control, lying iurine-soaked with her eyes crusted over from the pain she was in from the multiple, compound fractures.  Today her eyes are bright and loving and I always get a big thomp, thomp, thomp from her tail when I enter the room as she rolls onto her side for a belly rub and kisses on her head.
Thank you to everyone that sent prayers and good thoughts.
Kisses to all the marshmallow-heads!
Regards,
