[pyrnet] Bark (voice) change question

Hi Everyone,
   I had a call yesterday from a man with a question about his Pyr.  She is 
9 years old and seems very healthy except that her bark has changed.  It has 
become quieter and sort of hoarse. He worries that the air is not getting 
out, but she walks several miles a day with him and shows no signs of 
fatigue.  His Vet cannot see anything wrong but tells him that he can take 
her to the Vet school for more tests.  He does not want to spend all that 
money unless it is needed.  Anyone have any experience with a dog whose 
voice changed?  Any thoughts on this matter??? Thanks for your help
