Oh Karen, your shelter rejection story made us grin again about our own disappointments at being rejected. We chalked it up to "ignorance of overly citified folks" who run our local shelter. By both classification and instinct, Pyrs (and German Shepherds) are working dogs; and are happiest when they have a job to do. Being well loved and cared for is not exclusive to house pets.
It's just reassuring to know we're in good company as "rejects" :) Thanks for your story.
