I can understand that.. I mean we got Lady from a private owner--she was two months old when we got her and she has never been anyting other than very good natured, even at the vet! 
 
The only time I have even heard her growl was at a fox that was in our yard and she barks at the deer that go across our field..
 
She hasn't yet met a person she doesn't like--and believe me I would trust her judgement against anyone! 
 
She reminds me of a big fluffy bear!
 
And any dog can be bad tempered whether it be Pyr or not, but I do see what you are saying.. And I agree, you have to be careful who you get a dog from no matter what the breed.

The problem being with all the poorly bred pyrs coming from puppy
mills, ranch and farm breeders,<who are only concerned with the fast
buck>, many of these pyrs do not have a good temperament! 
Temperament is of the utmost importance in the Great Pyrenees, hence
we are hearing of more and more Pyrs who show aggression to
humans.
