Great idea, I have several sized Flexi Leashes that no longer work but for some reason I cannot throw away, I will take off the snaps, hooks, clasps..whatever they are called and use them for other things, instead of leaving them piled up in a closet..

I just save mine from worn out leashes. I buy the 30 foot cotton training
leads to walk Pico and the leads wear out in 6 months and I keep the old
hook. They are handy for all kinds of things like keeping keys from falling
in the bottomless pit of my handbag.
