It could be that Kiah is starting to mature and wants to be guarding. You 
might try bringing the crate upstairs to a central location where she can 
see and hear what is happening in the house.  Kiah certainly does not 
need to be in the bedroom.  A central hall near the entrance, or family 
room might work just as well ??  Good suggestion to feed her in the 
crate and have her special toys so she knows it's her place. Worth a try 
at least :)
