RE: [pyrnet] Any more alerts on flea/tick preventative?

Used to use Revolution on my goldens, but vet was concerned about the NC brown tick and so I switch to Frontline.  Eight years and no ticks at all.  Have had pyrs for two  years and different vet, same Frontline.  Works well.  No reactions and no problems with the coat. I use it all year.  They get brushed every other day and I have never seen anything on them.

I just started to use Listerine (mouthwash) to spray my deck so I could be outside with them. Happy to announce that it seems to be working well.  Nothing, I mean nothing was keeping bugs away from me.  Now, we can actually be outside together. The bears don’t like the initial spray, but they come back when it dries, but the mosquitoes don’t.  J

I've got my non-Pyr on Vectra.  I think it is fairly new.  Anyone know anything about that?

Hi all,

My Guys are going in tomorrow morning for their 6 mo wellness/heartworm check at which time I'll be getting more preventatives. Any advice on what or what NOT to get for Tick preventative? I know to RUN not walk away from the ProMeris. Anyone have any problems with the Frontline Plus? How do you all feel about the Herbal Collars?

There are so many deer up here that now days it's more like huge herds rather than a few here and there. I check the Guys daily, but the deer tick is extremely difficult to detect - even on the white. I worry.

Any input will be most appreciated.

Thanks!!!
