RE: [pyrnet] RE:Purebred Pyr?

I would love to see pics of your babies. Pyr/Old English mix sounds
wounderful.

We have a purebed Pyr (Arizona) that was shot in the eye, and left to wander
the streets. She's been the best thing that ever landed in our barnyard.
When she arrived she had almost no hair, weighed only 65 pounds and smelled
terrible. She looks great now, except for a droopy eyelid. She made a
wonderful guard dog for our livestock, but is now retired to the suburbs
with us. I've seen her in action with predators to save chickens, and I know
she would lay down her life for me, if necessary.

And then we have Ralph -- a mixed wolfhound/sheepdog mix. Picture big &
hairy. He looks like a dark grey snuffleupagus (if you follow Sesame St,
you'll know what I'm talking about).

Poor Ralph is now over 11 years old and is having a very rough time. He can
no longer get up in the bed with me -- and that's a problem for both of us.
(I'm seriously thinking about sleeping on the floor with him.) And he has
cataracts very bad and doesn't see well anymore. He's had a bad few days and
I'm wondering how much longer I'm going to have my best friend around. He's
usually my "shadow-dog" but is spending more time alone now. This is very
hard for me, because he really is my best friend.

My family & friends don't understand the bond we have together. But I knew
you guys would understand.

Thanks for letter me share. I needed that.

God bless everyone -- and Happy Thanksgiving.
