[pyrnet] CHAT; BEHAVIOR: Molly visits the old folks home

Well, lonely Molly (we lost Sampson to cancer two weeks ago), has been going on a few more field trips than usual.? Poor girl, recently tried hard to? play with the donkeys when they both went on a "wild rumpus" together.? They were running and rearing and having fun.? she did a play bow and raced alongside a bit, but they boys just wouldn't include her in their game.? She misses her buddy.

Anyway, she had just gotten groomed (ya'll know how nice a spa day is to bring up your spirits) and so I took her with me to visit my dad who lives in a retirement home. I've always thought she would be an amazing therapy dog, but have too much going on to take that step.? She is also pretty darn obedient for a pry and has her CGC,.

Well, we walked in and it was "happy hour", with about twenty residents huddled in the social room around a selection of boxed wine (grin).? They sighted her and immediately wanted us to come in.? Molly spent the next 20 minutes or so very quietly visiting, gently bringing her muzzle up to say hi to everyone and moving between everyone.? She is such a natural - the soul of mellow, this girl.? One lady in a wheelchair grabbed her on either side of the head and cried, sort of holding and hugging her... Molly had no problem with this.? I then found out that this lady is 102 years old and had her own dog team in Alaska.? It was very cool.?
