If anyone has any thoughts on how to approach this, I am all ears, so to speak.

None of my pyrs have liked baths. We use to tie Jake to a tree and chase him in a circle with a water hose. Eventually he'd wind himself so close to the tree he couldn't go very far.
Caesar will get wet and soapy and before you can rinse him, he will roll in pile of dirt. Nothing like a pyr that looks like a Newf.
My best advice is lots of treats and take it slow. Find a really high value treat, and reward for every step a long the way. Use lots of petting and reasurance.
