[pyrnet] RE: What can we do ...

The Great Pyrenees Club of American issues a report call the GPCA Health Committee Report or Survey. In the 1999 report section on causes of death, cancer caused 32 % of all Pyr deaths, with old age accounting for only 16%. Accidents accounted for 11%, with temperament related causing 9%. Heart conditions killed 8%, with heart, orthopedic, bloat, and infection related deaths each about 4-3%. Their special cancer survey in 2007 showed that osteosarcoma was by far the most prevalent form. These detailed results can be viewed at the GPCA website.
