Re: [WW] Weird War I?

I think you're missing the point behind the concept of weird wars.  It is not
the weapons that create the weirdness, it is the scale of the battles and the
desire of one side to win at all costs.

The nazi blood mages didn't invent their magic, they re-discovered it.  Blood
magic would have been used throughout any time where there were sufficient
innocent dying to keep the spiritual energy high.  The crusades are a perfect
example of this.  The atrocities commited by the crusaders or the muslems
would have been more than enough to power blood magic.  And the Sons of
Solomon would have been there to try and curtail the shenanigans of anyone
who decided to play with such dark forces.

Evil isn't tied to technology.  Technology just makes it easier.

The Crusades?  Yeah, it was a war, so to speak...it
just doesn't seem to fit with the rest of the Weird
Wars mentioned.  All of these use projectile weaponry,
whereas the Crusades (if used at all, which I doubt)
would be very primative in the least.
