[WW] Earth Vs. the Purple Worm!

     All this talk about tanks and purple worms is
making me think about running a game set in the 50's,
with the OSI having evolved into a cross between the
Army in every 50's B-Movie and UNIT from Doctor Who -
imagine the fun applying lethal military force to
every supernatural dilemma possible - the Crayfish-Men
of Louisiana (Chuul), the Deep One resurgance in
Mssachussetts (Kua-Toa), the risen dead of Michigan,
the Black Pudding that ate Seattle, the Brain-Eating
Alien invasion of Florida (Mind Flayers) and of course
the Purple Worms from beneath Kansas.
     The Resistance Fighter class works very well as
an angst-filled teenage rebel - all you really need to
change is the nature of the contact ability and the
favors granted ("Let's get the whole team together -
we'll show those lizard men that nobody invades our
town!")  All that's really missing is a pipe-smoking
scientist class, to intone somber monologues at the
end of every adventure.
