[WW] WWII Squad combat games

Someone mentioned that they were looking for WWII squad level combat games.
Well, I have one to suggest.

It is a computer game called Steel Panthers World at War or SPWaW. It is
downloadable for free from WWW.matrixgames.com.

SPWaW is not exactly squad level, it is more along the lines of platoon or
maybe company level...though I think you could do it squad level (not sure
since I have never tried.)

Mostly you deal with individual tanks, jeeps, halftracks, and units of 6-12
men. One great thing the game has all major combatants and an encyclopedia
with pictures andx details on all vehicles for each combatant. The US
encyclopedia has something like 60+ vehicles.

I just fought a battle against the germans for a little town in France...I
might use it for my Weird Wars campaign.

Now the bad news. The game is free. It is downloadable from the internet,
but the game file is 380+ Megabytes. That's right HUGE. I had do go get
resumable download program since all I have is a basic modem connection.
However, I did do it and it took me about 3-4 days, though it wasn't
constant, to download it.
