That sounded like a cool adventure. That sounds like the kind of adventure I
would run. Mind if I borrow a few ideas?

<<Thoughts:
Good use of the D20 system. Some thoughts/comments, and here I'm
specifically looking for problems:

a)There really needs to be more 'background skills'. Most grunts, scouts,
medics, etc, had lives before the army, unlike D&D classes where you are
assumed to have apprenticed in your chosen class. Perhaps allowing all PCs
a single level of Expert to represent their civilian life?>>

Keep in mind that these characters are most likely going to be young kids
who've been drafted right out of high school. They aren't going to have a lot
of background skills.

<<b)More rifle and modern-combat oriented feats are needed. Most of the PHB
feats assume a melee-intensive environment.

c)Low AC+2d8 damage means initiative is very important -- against first
level characters, the first shot is usually fatal and very likely to hit.

d)I hope this game is succesful. I think there's a lot of room for
expansion/detail, and I'd like to see it evolve beyond the core rulebook.>>

Hear hear.

<<e)More low-level critters! I know it's not a monster-hunting game, but
low-CR horrors would be nice.

Low CR critters are always nice. I always like to start people out at 1st
level. High levels loose some flavor otherwise. I always had problems making
them live that long in 2nd edition, but in 3rd they level pretty quickly.
That's good. Assuming a bit of luck they can get through the first couple of
levels with only a few casualties, and then they can get by on skill. Still,
low level monsters are fun, and making the pcs enjoy those first crucial
levels would be easier that way.
