[WW] Re: Grenades

Historically a strong, but not unusally so, soldier
could throw a Stielhandgranate 60m and an egg grenade
(Eierhandgranate) 100m.

The figures I have are:
Weapon Mass Effective Normal
                             Radius Range
                    (kg) (m) (m)
Eiergranate M1939 .34 12 45
Stielgranate .59 13 35

Grenades can be divided into offensive and defensive
ones. You are throwing defensive grenades from cover
so it does not matter how far the fragments go, the
further the better as long as you get a decent spread.
Offensive grenades have a shorter lethal radius as you
don't have cover as the attacker. The fuze on the
British No. 36 Defensive or Mills Bomb was usually the
largest fragment and could go a crazy distance.
