I don't think I have seen anyone mention the http://www.21stcenturytoys.com/ line of army men. I know they can be gotten at Wal-mart and Toys R Us. If you haven't checked these out I highly reccomend you do. They are plastic and you only get 6 soldiers for about $10.00. However the detail on these guys make them more like expensive metal minatures.
