RE: [WW] Secret societies (cross posted)

-----Original Message-----
Right now, I'm using Chaosium's Nephillim source book "Secret Societies"
and GURPS "Illuminatti" as a basis for the various societies IMC. Has
anyone else done anything along these lines? Magic and mystical oriented
societies are plenty, and I figure would factor into the whole WW
setting. Groups like the Illuminati, Templars, Masons, Teutonic Knights,
Knights Hospitaller, the Hashashin (Assassins), Thugees (India), Jesuits,
Mafia, Golden Dawn, The Yakuza, the Bushido societies, cabals in the KMT
(China), Prieurie de Sion, and Rosicrucians could all be involved in some
manner. Thule (or Thule Bruderschaft) is already in the setting, being
the origination of the official Nazi occult program (ergo Blood Mages).

Josh,

A little behind the scenes information....

The presence of secret societies in the Weird Wars lines will vary
tremendously with the settings. I understand that Christopher, in the Civil
War book, will have few if any. In the American Colonial wars/American War
of Independence book that I will be working on has several, including the
Sons of Solomon, the Freemasons, the Hellfire Club, the Order of the Dragon,
The Sons of Liberty, and those supporting the Stuarts, to name but a few.

Now, the book won't be out for awhile so I don't know how much immediate
help this will be. That being said, it's your game so do what you want with
it. The only individuals I would add to your list that might add something
to the setting would be the Wandering Jew and the Comte de Saint Germain.
After all, what's a metaphysical conspiracy without some immortals running
around?

I hope this helps. Take care.
