Actually, I'm fairly certain that it says without hesitation that it was
*not* a nuke, as everything simply...vanished. As well, there was no
radiation, etc...

But as far as Alphas go, I'm thinking that they'd be done in a whole
different way. No power packages, pick and choose. The packages tend to
limit a Delta in ways that they wouldn't be limited in Alphas.

But, I disagree with the Delta (or Reg, for that matter) not being able to
defeat Superior. One did, if you read the Guide section. The Facade, aka
Kennedy, is rumored to have set the trap for the Devastator to use that
particular weapon, if I recall. And all he could do is mimic. Alphas have
weaknesses, too.
Like Ground Zero. ;)
