Re: [BNW] Meta-Plot vs Static world
But that question is ultimately
as meaningful as the question "Why does gravity work?". Very important in
a overview of the world, and may lead to future developments, but not very
important in an immediate sense.
FINALLY- someone who gets it! No I am not talking gosh my players are going
to discover this, tomorrow. Or 'important to my plot line'. I don't have a
'fixed' plot plan. Like I said I have a calendar with various plot threads
worked out on it. These things will occur if the PCs don't interfere. They
might NEVER see them. But it WILL influence their world. The fire trucks
racing past their apartment at night AREN'T random. (most of the time) Or
the robbery in the headlines will have had a backplot they could have run
into or research afterwards. I am about placing my PCs into a 'moving' world
and they can CHOOSE to go whatever direction they want. Not in a 'choose
your own adventure" only the page numbers I say sort of way. But true,
go-for-it freedom. But I need to make basic decisions about how thnigs like
gravity work so that I don't mess up my OWN plotlines. (look all this work I
did is trashed because I made a quick in game judgement call...)
