It sounds good, but I wonder if the roll should be an acrobatics roll or a
str. roll. I don't think an olympic gymnast can jump so high because he's
skilled, but because he's strong (leg muscles). The fact that he can do a
triple flip and land on his feet is because of acrobatics skill.
Also, how does this compare to the Goliath's trick Superleap? It seems
like your giving the Bouncer another power for free almost...
I asked Matt Forbeck one time about the jumping distances and this was his
suggestion:
0.50" per point of strength for a standing forward jump
1.00" per point of strength for a running forward jump
0.25" per point of strength for a vertical jump
We didn't mention it, but I would guess:
0.25" per point of strenght for a backwards jump
I did some checking and this fits a real world approx. pretty well:
I consider myself of average str. (2d6) and I can jump forward a couple
yards from a standing position and about 11-12 ft. running.
Looked it up on the web and the record for the long jump in the '88
olympics was 28.something ft.
Assuming the athlete was in peak human shape (5d6 str.) then he should
have jumped 30 ft. so that is pretty accurate.
My group also made the suggestion that the char. can gain 0.25" of
distance for every success on an easy str. roll.
My Guide has offered to actually let me buy the Goliath's superleap trick
for 1.5x the normal cost. He figures we don't have any goliaths anyway (so
I won't be horning in on someone else's territory) and it fits in with my
char. concept very well (Matrix-style combat guy).
