[DL] Chips: arcane background & plot/item chips

Chips: arcane background & plot/item chips

Hiya all!

I have some chip ideas at the end of my blabbering, and some real wold chip
info at the beginning.

I would like to address three ideas.
1) What oddball colors of chips could be used to do neat things.
2) What color and how many of each chip would do the job.
3) I have thus far selected <http://www.casinocom.com/prochip.html> to buy
some top of the line chips from. Does anyone know of a better seller?

1) What oddball colors of chips could be used to do neat things.

Charcoal (Black) - Bad Luck (added to the plot to be mean or when the poesy
does something horrible)

Almond (White like) - Good Luck (Added to the pot when the poesy does
something so honorable that a Legend chip just is not the proper reward)

Grey (iron looking) - Gives mad scientists extra oomph when making something.

Dark Green (money looking) - Gives Hucksters extra oomph when playing with
magic.

Daisy (sun looking) Gives Blessed extra oomph when doing the work of the lord.

Dark Brown (earth looking) Gives Shaman extra oomph when communing with
spirits.

Lilac (purple royal and dream like) - (1-point bounty / Counts as a Plot
[player gives storyteller an reasonable idea for a character related story
plot] or Item [player with 5-grit can have one of his items become magical by
"good" spirits . . . +1 to hit Handgun, +1d6 to damage Tomahawk, Full Flask
of Whisky/1day, items can slowly become more powerful over time or newer
lesser items can be imbued]). I do this in my high fantasy heroic games
where after the characters have achieved "name level" where the legend of
there deeds spread, they gain sufficient power, and are rewarded (be it by
belief of the common people, blessings by gods, or sure self-confidence of
the character). I give the players some creative license to imbue one of his
or her characters prized possessions with magic that fits the characters
personality. Thus giving a player a chance to help create magical items that
have belonged to there powerful characters and have slowly become infused
with magic over time. Their items take up character fitting powers and a
personality resembling the owner if there is such a thing. Work in progress

Other ideas possibly involving Legends of The West, Native American Warriors
and Chinese Zodiac Signs mentioned later that would involve research on the
person or idea pictured on the chip.

As there are more than four arcane backgrounds should I have one color arcane
background chip to fit all arcane background needs? Or pull this chip and
get a special colored chip better suited for the specific arcane background
character?

2) What color and how many of each chip would do the job.

Well here I am blabbing on about chips again. I am planing on attempting
ordering some chips again (I tried before Christmas but they were sold out of
many of my choice chips).

I have found a real nice chip seller over at
<http://www.casinocom.com/prochip.html> they seem to have a line of superb
10-gram clay compost casino chips. They also offer some nifty chips with
Legends of The West, Native American Warriors and Chinese Zodiac Signs on
them that, as I see it, would add some neat feel to a Deadlands game.

One set of LEGENDS OF THE WEST FULL GRAPHIC CHIPS ($0.75/ each or $4.50/set)
- $1 Doc Holiday, $5 Butch Cassidy, $25 Sundance Kid, $100 Bat Masterson,
$500 Wyatt Earp, $1000 Pat Garrett

One set of NATIVE AMERICAN WARRIOR FULL GRAPHIC EDGE SPOT CHIPS ($0.75/ each
or $5.25/set) - $1 Quanah Parker, $5 Red Cloud, $25 Crazy Horse, $100 Chief
Josheph, $500 Geronimo, $1000 Sitting Bull, $5000 Sequoia

One set of CHINESE ZODIAC CHIPS ($0.75/ each or a special price of $7.20/set)
- Dog, Dragon, Horse, Monkey, Ox, Pig, Rabbit, Rat, Rooster, Sheep, Snake,
Tiger

STARBURST SOLID COLOR COMPOSITE/CLAY CHIPS ($0.49/each) - 60 colors available

I am thinking of using some of the picture chips as my 3-point Blue chips
(either the Chinese Zodiac Chips, the Native American Chips along with the
Legends of The West Chips, or switching off between the sets for a nice
surprise).

15 Metallic Gold (5-piont Legend gold chip)
10 Royal Blue (3-point Blue chip)
25 Rose (2-point Red chip)
50 White (1-point White chip)

05 Showboat Grey (1-point bounty / Counts as a Legend if rolled by a Mad
Scientist)
05 Dark Green (1-point bounty / Counts as a Legend if rolled by a Huckster)
05 Daisy (1-point bounty / Counts as a Legend if rolled by a Blessed)
05 Dark Brown (1-point bounty / Counts as a Legend if rolled by a Shaman)

05 Almond (Off White Good Fortune Chip)
05 Charcoal (Bad Fortune Chip)

05 Lilac (1-point bounty / Counts as a Plot [player gives storyteller an
reasonable idea for a character related story plot] or Item [player with
5-grit can have one of his items become magical by "good" spirits . . . +1 to

characters and slowly become infused with magic over time and take up
character fitting powers and a personality resembleing the owwnere if there
is such a thing. Work in progress By Rich Gray (TexasRangerGray@aol.com)
