Actually, if the vampire is careful--and doesn't give into the temptations of his power--he can get by without accumulating Corruption. It's tough, but it can be done. 

However, that means he toes a _very_ fine line. Which is what we wanted. Like I said (I think) several times in the text, a werewolf's a monster only when transformed, a vampire is a monster all the time. An Anti-Templar is much the same way; if he chooses to avoid the temptation of the gifts of the Reckoners, he can remain unCorrupt for the life of a character.

A vampire, OTOH, has a much harder row to hoe.

They do get the short end of the stick; it's likely to be very hard to play one for a long haul. However, if they didn't, they'd dominate a posse so fast it would make your head spin. ;-)
