Doomsayers don't need background radiation to work their powers; they
only need it to recover Strain.  If a Doomie came back in time, he
wouldn't be able to recover Strain normally...unless he brought a Ghost
Lamp.
And what might be an interesting plot idea...


YEAH, THIS MEANS "SPOILER"




Suppose you had this Ghost Rock mine...
And suppose you had a nearby vein of uranium...
Suppose you had this earthquake that shook some uranium chunks into the
ghost rock mine, thus irradiating the rock.
Such a place might make a good lair for an bad guy like that, complete
with mutated guard-pets.
