Re: [DL] This Harrowed Ground

Well, to answer your questions before I launch into a remeniscense about my
first DL game I would hazard to guess:

All of us have run it.

All of us think it's a good low level adventure.

I actually ran it twice. You see, back in 1997, when I first ran into this
game, I was itchin' to play Deadlands, but couldn't find any games within 90
miles, so's I started my own. I had a few mock battles with my roommate so I
could get the hang of the system and then invited four friends over. One
showed that night and brought a freind with him. I figured I could start
these guys out and then mesh the rest in next week...
The tag-along buddy turned out to be a nightmare beyond anything I could
possible have dared to expect. I felt like BA from KODT. Within 3 hours of
entering town, he had shot and killed a deputy over an imagined insult,
sucker punched the sheriff while the other player tried to smooth over the
situation, killed another deputy that was guarding the livery, stole his
guns and his horse, left the other player tied up in the barn, and headed
for the hills...
He didn't come back next week and we had a "do over" with the rest of the
posse. It was just a bad dream on the part of the unhappy player and since
most of the evening was spent trying to get out of messes the munchkin got
into, not much plot was revealed and it the second run ran far better.

The munchkin's character became a recurring villain.

My guys didn't catch on about Linkous' weapons either. Thier butts were
saved by a very fortuitous casting of Soul Blast, I think it was 4 of a
kind.
