[DL] Deadlands D20 vs Deadlands

I agree that Deadlands d20 does lose a lot of the
flavor of the original system, but I still think it
would be fun to play. HOWEVER, my group, avid D&D 3rd
edition players that they are, LOVE the original
Deadlands system (well, the Revised Version, anyway),
one so much that she spent almost $200 on eBay getting
a lot of the sourcebooks and boxed sets from someone
in Colorado :) And another has been buying the stuff
that she doesn't have, and both of them loaning it to
me so I can use it :) (I'm having a bit of a bad time
financially at the moment). And almost everyone in the
group now owns a copy of the Players Guide. My wife,
who usually doesn't like horror games, is so hyped on
this game she doesn't want to play anything else!

I'm very grateful to this list for talking me into
trying the original system, although I do plan on
keeping up with any Deadlands d20 stuff that comes out
top..for that matter, I plan to get GURPS Deadlands
too, and all their Dime Novels, but I'll use those
with the original game :)

Now if someone would just drop a copy of High Noon
into my mailbox at allensh1@home.com (because I don't
think the Yahoo account will accept it) until I can
afford Great Rail Wars 2nd edition, I'd be a very
happy camper :)
