Re: [DL] Fun with the Damned (was: Jacque's Soul)

How exactly did they word this bargin?

Demons are (in)famous for following the letter of the
law to as far an extent as inhumanly possible without
ever considering the spirit intended.

Did he directly state "the soul that formerly resided
within his body" or equivalent, or is there some
wiggle room in there to return someone else's soul to
him entirely?

Imagine this - at the end of the 'bargin' year a soul
is returned to him, but it's the soul of a mass murder
who is quite willing to begin those deeds again. Here
we have a living person going through the Harrowed
game of Dominion.

For a player in an old game who was trying his hand at
demonic bargins we printed out the contract with as
much flash and detail as possible. Everything was
spelt out in decent leagalese with the appropriate
places to sign for both parties. What the Player did
not check for was the fine print. The nicely detailed
border around the document was in fact 0.5 point print
containing all manner of additional clauses. Was it
the demon's fault that the mortal was too ignorant to
check?

After realising that the Player was in trouble of
breach of contract at the end of the deal (with
suitable nefarious consequences there of), the demon
made an additional "double or nothing" bargin. The
Player had to exchange two innocent souls in-exchange
for his own back. Quite a quandry for the mostly
decent party to deal with.

Just a thought.

Cheers,
Mr. B
