[DL] When your chips are down.

The rule's tinkerin' thread remindered me of two
thing that had happened in games Ive played and ran.

1) the straith out, stand up and shoot it out players
spend all thier fate chips on wounds while the sneaky
players and Arcanes with protective spells avoid
wounds and are able to buy up thier stats quicker.

2) the players end up spending all thier chip in
combat because its a combat heavy game and end up
saveing thier bounty chip at the end of the game so
that they can survive the next game.

I humbley offer two possible solutions to this.

1)The chips spend on wounds go to the marshall not
just the Red chips. When the marshal spends his chips
they get added to the Bounty at the end of the night.
The players chose how to devide up these extra chips.
In this way the gunfighters can get some of thier
chips back, the combat heavy games charaters still
get to advance, and the Gm can pay off the players
with a bucket load of chips to make sure his
reacurring villian lives to fight another day.

2) Rewards of renown
At the end of each game after the next big gun fight
when say, one Willy the kids spends 3 blues fighting
the Akron gang in the middle of the street, while the
hucksters and snipers are off shooting rifle and
spells from cover, tell Willy he now has remown 2 in
town from being known as the guy that took out the
Akron gang. And the next time Willy buys up a stat
,say gunplay, have the retired gunfighter in town
take him under his wing and offer him a few tips, and
then lower the cost of his next level of gunplay by
his renown in town. This should only be used with
renown earned in the game and should be only a one
shot thing, but it does reward the player for being
seen being a hero.
