I don't have the first in the Trilogy, but I'm guessing that the gun sounds

I read that caffeine stops radiation from effecting the cells, but only in
massive amounts.

Wasted West is a must. Each Arcane Background has a book and nice detailed
info on them. Waste Warriors is nice for ex-military and survivalists.
