Re: [DL] Learning a new system (was Re: Map of Denver)

Hi,
I would like to point out that learning a new system of game-mechanics
really isn't that difficult provided said system was properly made in the
first place. I've played more game systems than I can remember and the
systems have rarely been the problem. I've never played DL D20, but from
what I understand, it loses much of the wonderfully atmospheric game
mechanics (viz, card & chips) that make Deadlands both unique and very
amusing.
I must therefore suggest that learning games systems is a bit like
learning new languages: the more of them you know, the easier it is to
learn new ones. (Admittedly, this point of view will be hard for the
unilingual people out there.) ;-) Learning game systems isn't a zero-sum
game.
