RE: [DL] need some gun info

The character Josey Wales used a number of revolvers and a rifle.
The rifle was a Sharps Rifle.

He used 2 different Colt Army models during the film.

He used a colt navy sheriff model as a belt pistol.

His holster revolvers were Colt Walker's.

The Walkers can be distinguished from the Dragoon series by the loading lever which is held in place on the Walkers by a post that goes through the loading lever about 1/2 inch from the end of the lever. The Dragoon loading levers are held in place by a spring loaded clip on the end of the lever.

As a critical note, not bloodly likely that one man, let alone a Missouri dirt farmer, would own two Walkers. Only 1000 were made, and that was in 1846.
My experience with my Walker repro is that it is a sweet shooter. The Colts all aim very nicely. The powder charge is huge though. The Colt Army model 1860 used the same lead ball as the Walker, but the Walker used 50 grains of powder vs the Army's 25 grains of powder. Even so the Walker shoots with less recoil as it is a 5 pound handgun when loaded.
