I also had a problem with the language. Which is weird. I’m a Soprano’s fan and the language doesn’t faze me one bit. I guess mostly it just seems overkill. And out of place. I just didn’t expect Scarface (Al Pacino’s version that is!) to meet Wild Bill. :-) I haven’t even watched it since the first show.

Funny thing, my wife mentioned that she read an article in which the writers/producers/someone involved with the show claimed that it was very historically accurate in regards to speech. I’m a bit skeptical, although I’m certainly no expert in linguistics of the 1870’s.

Also, the first episode just didn’t grab me. I liked Wild Bill (didn’t even realize it was Keith Carradine until I saw that post!). At the end of that episode I guess we’re supposed to be cheering for Wild Bill and the ex-marshall? Perhaps I couldn’t get over the language? <shrug>

Hmm... Maybe I should give it another chance...

Take care,

Derek

I'm digging it as well. My one complaint: The first couple of shows, particularly the first 5 minutes of the first episode, it was very obvious they wanted to say "Look! We're on HBO! We can say F(*# and C#$)(*S)(*)*R!" And then proceeded to use 'em like commas. ;)
