Despite my rant against ranting on semantics on the DL list, I'd like to point out that "apocalypse"
is a word that has been sorrowfully mistreated since ancient Greece. The word means "revelation,"
and not necessarily the Book of, either. When "The Revelation to John" was incorporated into the
New Testament, the Greek name for the book, "Apocalypse," was used to describe the most spectacular
(not the only) events told of in the book itself. Now, "Apocalypse" just means "the end of the
world" to most people, so to put it another way, what happened in HoE is many Apocalypses, or
revelations.
Irregardless, please note how I didn't threaten doom and Hellfire on those who used the word
"improperly." Kinda makes you think, huh?
