Why not just not allow it to be recharged, and not let the player know how
much charge is left... that way it would only be used it cases of extreme
need, since running out of power before killing the doombringer would screw
things up.

This way you avoid the potential unbalance caused by a lightsaber in
deadlands, whild allowing the templer to kill the doombringer.
