Well, I just don't let my players know that anything can be salvaged.
They know the guns will explode and they don't really ask about anything
else, I suppose they think it's all just safer. Also anyone who brings in
twenty vests of armor into any community is not going to get too much for
it because it's the rarity of the armor that gives it it's value. As the
law of supply and demand dictates if there is a large supply than demand
goes down. It gets too difficult and time consuming trying to travel to
isolated communities in order to profit well from the armor. Lugging all
that around with them will be difficult and make them targets for any road
gangs in the area who get the same ideas. Also, what if the vests are
marked by the black hats? Who would have the guts to wear armor that
tells anyone who looks at it who they killed to get it. That could cause
more problems especially with more blackhats. This problem was always
encountered in Role-playing games and it was always argued around by
clever GM's and players who found easier ways to make their fortunes.
