Re: [HoE] John Hopler (time travel)

Templars, Doomsayers, and Junkers, however, are out of luck. In the case of
Templars, many of the Saints are still alive or haven't been born yet, so
their powers won't work. Likewise, Doomsayers don't have the high
background
radiation level they need to perform their miracles. There are very few
"free" tech spirits in the Hunting Grounds during the Weird West period. so
the TN of all junker tool tricks and powers are increased by a whopping +8.

<< Nah!!! Now i agree with the junker thing, but Doomsayers and templars
would
still work out fine. I mean, there would be a much stricter rule on strain
(maybe decreading it by 1/3) but they still have rads to draw off of on
there
own mutations. But it never said WHY templars had their powers, so we'd
still
 be left wonderin'. >>

Okay, first and foremost I shall smack you quite painfully for arguing with
John Hopler about a rules decision. And then I shall state that WHY Templars
have their powers doesn't really matter. In the Weird West, the SOURCE of
their powers doesn't even exist. They'd still be badasses with a sword, but
they'd lose all their special skills. The only argument against this could
be that the Saints bestow the rewards on Templars in much the same manner as
a blessed, so that the Templar himself has that power now, instead of the
spirits of dead heroes giving it to him at all times.

As for Doomsayers, I was never really clear on how their powers worked,
except for the fact that the radiation already in their bodies made them more
open to the Glow. If that's the correct interpretation, then they, too,
would be bereft of their powers in the Weird West, as there is no Glow in
1876.
