(Hey Hawk, I'm cc'ing this to the listserv as well since I thought they might
enjoy the response.)

<< hEy!
I heard you guys were doing much better this year.
Yup. We're a decent team these days.
just out of curiousity:
Someone made a comment about the list being a sounding board which PEG
listened to.
From a professional standpoint, what have they changed for you as a
designer??
Hmm. Tough question. It reminds me how people have such diverse views.
Sometimes we put out something that I think just wasn't what I wanted. Either
it got rushed out to meet a deadline or I just didn't like it. But then I
hear people love it. The opposite also happens. I'm on target more often than
not, but it's interesting. It's also interesting to see how many people make
house rules that are *so* complicated they'd never fly as "published" rules,
but they seem to love 'em. We gamers are a strange lot.
Most importantly though, the people on *our* list (not necessarily others
I've been in on) are an incredibly knowledgable, polite, and intelligent lot.
When things get tough around here, as they often do, they remind me that at
least a few hundred--maybe a few thousand--people truly love this thing we've
created. I know that sounds kind of sappy, but it really is true. God knows
we don't do this for the money.
P.P.S. Are you guys gonna give away a six shooter again at ORIGINS? If so I
may just saddle up and go see how flat what Ohio is again.
Nope. We're not having any tournaments this year because GRW is in flux. We
will be demoing the new rules for GC though.
I *did* buy a signed Hoyle's book however, and we *are* going to give it away
as a prize for something later this year--we just don't know what yet. It has
to be something pretty big as the book was *very* expensive (I bought it on
Ebay).
