well, first of all, if people go off by themselves in the Wastes, or Caves, 
or whatever, they are asking to die, however big and bad they are.  Hover 
bike or not, something will smack them like a mosquito.  My biggest advice 
is just don't hold back. have something awful thwap him and say "well, he 
was dumb enough to go off by himself in the wasted west. that's how people 
die".  My games are less fatal then many, but still people who do that are 
asking to die.

I can see both sides of this.  a PC Road Warrior does not want to be told 
their concept is shot because the Marshal decided to make his rig fall apart.

then he may be doomed.  The Wasted West is where loners stay together 
because they have to.

If he were by himself he would not be being a rebel now would he?  its a 
catch-22.  say how old is this person?

People who do that is HoE generally die.  Even Cole Ballard rarely works 
alone when he can help it, much less some punk on a hover bike.  If he 
wants to go off by himself fine.  just leave clues so the Posse can recover 
the bike.

I think he is trying to be a rebel.  or maybe he just lacks any level of 
compromise.
