I don't think this will work. This will just make things worse. I know
how these players work... there's not much you can do if they don't grow
up.

This will just cause him to do even more outrageous things to get
attention. If he gets desperate enough, he'll try to kill the entire
party.

Although I did suggest that, I don't think its a viable solution in and
of itself. If the bike is taken away, he'll get really pissed off and
get extremely resentful, because he'll think he's being singled out. My
suggestion was to take it away with the promise he'd get it back later,
so the GM could develope part of the story around the theft.

Your best solution is probably going to be negotiation. Find out what
the player wants to do, then compromise a bit. If he wants to go off on
his own a bit, fine, I'll work out something for him to do if he agrees
to do something with the party. 

So far, sounds like a pretty classic KODT scenario, only I wish it were
that funny.
