The Librarians have a junker-built computer in the basement of their
Main Branch. It can access the Net in the Hunting Grounds and the Tech
Spirits there can form extrapolations from the data they have about the
current state of the world [they can get a lot, I would imagine from the
Tech Spirits outside the Hunting Grounds as well.]

Their current data suggests that the Earth will be devoid of *ALL* life
within the next 25 years. 

A force coming for East of the Mississippi ia part of causing complete
global extinction, but the Net cannot form any further theories on what
this powerful force exaclty is.
