[HOE] speaking of unreal saints
heres some I prepared earlier
some help on working out deeds, ideas are always gratefully jumped upon
Blessing of Rand Al'Thor
The Dragon reborn, The Car a Carn, The Coramoor, Lord of the Morning. (from
Robert Jordan's wheel of time)
Rand demands that those under his guidance do what they have to do no
matter what the result
Those who Rand chooses must wear dusty browns and pale yellows,A Leather
tabard is the required clothing
Powers granted by Rand
White: Rand was a young boy forced onto his path by fate and prophecy, a
white chip represents his ability to adapt to the situation he was thrust
into.
The sacrifice of a white chip grants those blessed the ability to avoid
surprise
Red: Rand was gifted a blade created with magic by his father as the
servants of the dark overran his home village, both blade and hilt were
decorated with herons the mark of a swordmaster
The sacrifice of a red chip grants the character ability with a sword equal
to a sword master he may either choose which location to strike or roll the
non strength portion of any damage roll twice and take the best result
Blue: Rand trained long and hard under the tutelage of Lan Mandragoran and
finally surpassed his teacher proving himself in a battle with Ba'Lazamon a
servant of the Dark one (one of the thirteen forsaken)
The sacrifice of a blue chip grants those blessed the full power of a heron
marked swordmaster they automatically gain +3 cards per round and may use
the black joker as an attack action (same timing as the red) but must make
the strike via their own body in some way, this power also allows the
character to use the red chip ability at the same time, it may be continued
by sacrificing a chip at the start of each round (white 1 round, red 1d3
blue 2d3 legend the next hour or the next 30 combat rounds whichever is
longer)
Legend: Rand was Ta'veren and it is said that the pattern of destiny wove
itself around him
The sacrifice of a legend chip grants the blessed the ability to write
destiny as it happens around them, Berserk enemies will surrender, Enemies
will change allegiance the more major the effect the shorter the period of
time it will last, making some good friend a loyal follower will last
forever but making a servitor your best friend will last but a few seconds
Vexation: Rand was a man who could channel, all men who can channel go mad,
Rand had to use his power to fight darkness so he conspired with a servitor
to trap another servitor who could channel, he then double crossed the first
and captured the second to act as a teacher in the ways of channelling.
Rand will leave those who willingly conspire with the forces of darkness,
unless you are using them to learn a way to improve yourself
The Blessings of Richard Coeur de Lyon (from the robin hood legends)
Richard the lionhearted, King of the Britons, Lord of the Crusades
Richard the lionheart comes to those who strive beyond their ability to
uphold and maintain great causes.
Richard demands that all who are blessed by him take a fortress from the
enemy or rebuild a ruined fortress, he also demands that those who follow
him wear chainmail and are at all times courteous to women and those of
lesser status
White: Richard led three crusades into the holy land and became a mater of
fortifications and tactics
The sacrifice of a white chip allows the blessed to listen to Richards
advice on the subject of tactics this grants a +4 on all tactics or
engineering rolls when applied to a fortress (however should the character
go bust the advice is to leave and come back with more numbers, if in a
fortress the character automatically retreats to a safe place, (he led three
crusades of which none succeeded)
Red: Richard was not called the lionheart for nothing he rarely backed down
The sacrifice of a red chip allows the character to automatically pass any
fear test and grants a +1 bonus to all tests of a similar nature (max +1 to
any type of fear)
Blue: Richard inspired loyalty and trust in all his followers, men who went
with him on the crusades threw themselves into unwinable battles just
because it was Richards command
The sacrifice of a blue chip allows you to command any follower to perform
a reasonable action, or if a leadership test (opposed by smarts) is
successful any unreasonable but possible action will be attempted (attack
that fortress, but not throw yourself off that cliff)
Legend: Richard was captured by the heathens on his third crusade and his
Brother John refused to pay his ransom, it took the actions of one of his
loyal friends to raise the ransom to break him out
By sacrificing a Legend chip the character will be rescued by some means,
(it may take some time)
Vexation: Richard deserts those who refuse to accept a challenge, or those
who never help a damsel in distress
The blessing of Thor (from what i remember of Norse myth)
Lord of Thunder, guardian of Valhalla, Duke of The Valkries, Father of the
winds
In Norse myth Thor was a man who saved The Life of Odin and was raised to
demigod status he fought with the gods against the Ice Giants and after the
death of Odin's Son Mijolnir was granted a full godhood, in deference to the
god who had died to give him his place he Vowed to "slay the ice giants till
all had passed further into time that the mountains", and Named his hammer
after him
Thor comes to those who have giants to slay, those who have made a vow that
binds them beyond the limits of time, he also comes to those who save the
life of a god (but that's very rare)
He demands that all who follow him take up his crusade against the giants
and that in deference to those who have fallen they name a weapon
White: Thor saved the life of Odin by giving him his life
The sacrifice of a white chip allows the person blessed by Thor to take the
wound of an injured person onto themselves
Red: Thor married Freya and begat the four winds
The sacrifice of a red chip calls one of the winds to carry a message to
any person for you
Blue: Thor fought his enemies on the chequered fields of Ab-Absalom not all
are so lucky
For the sacrifice of a blue chip Thor ensures that no trouble from the
environment harms the warrior during his fight (area effect attacks have no
effect unless specifically targeted at the blessed) this lasts until the
fight ends
Legend: Thor leads the Valkries who carry the bodies and souls of the dead
to their final resting places
The sacrifice of a legend chip will allow the blessed to return the soul of
one fallen for the cause to their body (if the body still has the death
wound the valkrie will return the soul then leave with it as the hero dies
once more) this must be performed in the hour before the soul reached the
Hall of Heroes
Vexation: it is very important that those blessed by thor honour the dead
especially if they are noble warrior or enemies, Thor does not like people
who play practical jokes
