Dude, if you have a computer on hand where you play, prepare something to
work with a text-to-speech program. Then describe the scene and hit the
Play button when you want the Automaton to say it. They'll wet themselves
in either fear as they realize that this one might be intelligent and
therefore more dangerous or laughter as they conjure a mental image of
Stephen Hawking wearing the Clockwork Orange outfit (I thought of it as a
result of this idea!).

You're making me think of William Shatner's performance on The Transformed
Man (his quasi-legendary 1968 album) of the rallying speech in King Henry
(or is it Richard?) V- you know, "Once more unto the breach, dear friends,"
etc., etc.

Still, that gives me an idea- they go with the idea of giving them
personalities and they give one the personality of that character in the
hopes of making one that can lead others programmed to be the men fighting
under King Henry (or Richard, whichever, I can never remember which).
However, they've made them capable of learning and he gains a noble nature,
bestowing it on his subordinates and you now end up not only having the
occasional rogue Black Hat, you know have a whole group ofrogue automatons,
though they've realized that Throckmorton is an evil &(#)$&_@ and become
good guys!

Here's yet another thought: what powers would a Junker need to make an
Automaton?
