[HOE] New Blood sport - part 1

This is going to be writen in two parts one for players and one for the 
marshals and is long. :)

"Hello yarders, this is Jip Jackson reporting on KYRD evening news. It 
appers we have a new blood sport as well as a new arenia here in Junkyard. 
Last week the new sport , simply titled 'Run', opened to the public. Run 
takes place in a large warehouse where chalengers are charged with getting 
from one end to the other in a everchanging maze of mayhem. But thats not 
the only challenge. Placed through out the arena are other sportsman known 
as game keepers who use a vast array of weapons in an effert to try to twart 
the challenger. The challengers are compeating for prizes and are allowed to 
bet on themselves. Spectators watch from the catwalks above the arena and 
bets are taken on each challenger. Admission is only $2 per vist. (very 
competitive prises compaered to other sports in the area.) The owner, a Mr. 
Phil Wigham, feels confident he will build a large fan base and is happy to 
contrubit to the community. We'll be right back after these words from

Playing Run

Hay folks, so you may be thinking, "I want to win fabulous prizes and make a 
name for my self in the Run arena." Well go to it brainer. Wigham takes 
almost and chalenger and runs his arena nightly. The catch is you start with 
no weapons (but any armor you want eccept for powered)and have only your 
wits and speed to start you off. The gamekeepes start with weapons but only 
light armor. The maze is made up of chainlike fence, old bedsrings and 
mattrices, and other old junk. As for getting through the maze your marshel 
will have all the details on that, but it won't be easy. The maze changes as 
you move through it and the strobe lights and louds noises don't help much 
eather, besides you have bigger things to worry about.

Gamekeepers

Run is played in rounds just like combat. Your highest card is given up as a 
continuous action of running the maze after that you can use the rest of 
your cards to vamoose the gamekeepers or try to take there weapons. Now the 
gamekeepers have a slight atvantage in that thay are laying in wait for you. 
Thay are delt one card wich is considered a sleve card and can be use at any 
time. All the gamekeepers are under strict orders not to gang up on a 
challenger. Another thing working for you is gamekeeps are not allowed guns. 
Projectile weapons like nail guns or crossbows are allowed however. At 
present no cyborgs or scrappers are allowed to be challengers unless all 
weapons can be removed.

What am I running for

Prizes are awared by Phil Wigham based on the Challengers preformance. Thay 
are ussally good quality guns and ammo but Wigham chooses the prizes and 
nothing is stoping him from handing out toster ovens. In the week Run has 
been open one preticulerly crowd pleasing challenger even won a new 
motercycle!

By the way anyone who wants to play Run "for real" can vist Halloween Horror 
Nights at Universal Orlando. My employers as well as the insperation for 
this write up.
