Actually I think it's an interesting idea. The only problem that I see with it is that it does jump from start to finish a little too soon. I could easily make an entire adventure chasing this one guy down or vice versa with the culmination of it all being a large climatic battle filled with PC death. Of course IMO the reckoners would add a little more mojo to the guy but that's just me and my opinion. I like to work at corrupting the hero until he's a pawn. To each his own however and it depends on how the posse like to play. All in all I do believe it's an excellent idea. Truthfully though, if I wanted to really get rid of them I'd just send stone after 'em.
