Re: [pbmserv] Re: how about this for a crazy idea for gamerz.net

It would be helpful to have the simpler alternative of queuing moves unconditionally provided they are all legal. This situation happens fairly frequently in card games. Also there are games such as Zertz in which a long string of responses are forced.

There may be an issue with conditional moving that the move syntax may have some flexibility and you really want to consider two moves to be equivalent if they leave the board in the same condition.

Am I missing something about the fact that the original suggestion was from a backgammon server. How do you guess what the next dice rolls will be?

Cheers,

Lyman

PS May want to move thread to the developers' list.

You're a genius for suggesting this, and a saint for programming it. I've thought it through. The command will be called "guessmove". There will need to be an abbreviation for me, so also make "gmove". You don't need any ifs or thens in the command line. Separate each guessed move by a semicolon or period or some symbol that doesn't otherwise get used but is easy to type. Then a player just needs to alternate their moves with what they think their opponent will do.

pe4;pe5;nf3
